INTEX AQUA I-5 Review

Intex has recently arrived into the field of smart phones. Before this Intex company was making feature phones. It is currently offering around 12 smart phones in the market and it is planning to launch 20 more smart phones in the near future. The Intex Aqua i-5 is a new Android Smart phone in moderate price, with which the company promises to provide great results at an economy price.

Design

Aqua i-5 is a big screen Android phone with a very slimmer body as compared to other Smart phones in this range. This phone is 8.8mm thin and weighs 155 grams which does not feel too heavy in fact it gives a rich feel when carried. This smart phone is in two fantastic and eye catching colours, white and black. It has a 5-inch display with the three capacitive touch buttons, back home and menu respectively just below the screen. The earpiece, a 2-megapixel front camera lens and the sensor array are above the display along with the Intex brand logo. The back cover and the front panel are separated by a chrome frame. The screen lock button in on the right top. The volume rocker key is located on the left-hand side at almost the same position.

Display

The Intex Aqua i-5 comes with a 5-inch qHD IPS screen that has a resolution of 540×960 pixels and pixel density of 221ppi.Talking about the viewing angle; it works good at different angles. The main problem is faced when operating the phone in sunlight. The text and images does not appear good while using it in sunlight. Videos and pictures looked good and colours appeared natural in normal light.

Interface

The Intex Aqua i-5 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Intex has different themes which provide us with different and innovative icons. It also has lock-screen widgets which is an Android 4.2 feature. Clock, Camera, Gmail, Google Now and Messaging widgets appear right in front of the home screen. The phone also offers Daydream, which displays photo albums or the clock while the phone’s charging.

Camera

The Intex Aqua I-5 can capture photos with the latest HDR (High Definition Recorder). The 12-megapixel camera takes fine quality images in day time. However, pictures taken in low-light conditions do not impress us. Pictures taken indoors with less light were also a little glazy. The 2-megapixel front camera takes fine quality pictures with good lighting conditions.

Battery Back-up

The Intex Aqua i-5 has a 1.2GHz Mediatek MT6589 quad-core processor. It has 1GB RAM and PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU.  It has 4GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB by a microSD card. The phone comes with 2000mAh batteries which can easily last for a full day with medium to heavy usage

Final Take

The Intex Aqua i-5 is a decent Android smart phone that costs less than Rs. 12,000, with a quad-core processor. Intex is offering a flip cover and screen guard along with the phone. So it is a wise money investment plan for those who are looking for latest android operating system. My rating to this innovative smart phone is 7.5/10.
