In the very recent past, you may have heard people talking about a site named Ello. Though it sounds like some new invented food or at least a musical instrument, but Ello is bring itself with a new era to introduce to you. Ello is a new social interaction site for everyone including you. But the most fascinating fact about Ello is they do NOT sell ads. People got bored with Facebook and stuff like that, and eventually got fade up about the extent of commercialization to which a user does not want to log in to it any more. For those people, Ello has come up with a huge sigh of relief. According to their site, “Ello is a simple, beautiful, and ad-free social network created by a small group of artists and designers. We originally built Ello as a private social network. Over time, so many people wanted to join Ello that we built a public version of Ello for everyone to use.”
It is not the first that some other alternative has popped out before you as a replacement of Facebook. But it is surely making a lot of buzz from the enthusiastic users and also Ello is getting a butt load of attention. Now the question is what the reason behind it is.
As it said in their official site, it has been designed by a bunch of talented artists and designers and it is currently in its beta status along with invite only. With its black and white interface, Ello shows your friend list on left side while right side is dedicated for your feed about what your friends are posting about. Clean and simple is their main target about making Ello a user friendly social network site.
Their most influential advantage is that there is neither any advertisement on their networking site nor they sell the users’ data to the third parties. About this Ello’s stance is, “Collecting and selling your personal data, reading your posts to your friends, and mapping your social connections for profit is both creepy and unethical. Under the guise of offering a “free” service, users pay a high price in intrusive advertising and lack of privacy.” So they do not want to insult your intelligent by making illegal invasion on your personal profile.
To be different than the largest social networking site; which is Facebook, Ello has made a noticeable change in their site which you might need some time to get used to. But once you are getting accustomed to it, you will find it insanely simple. You can make your friend list in to two genres: friends and noise. You can also post short texts, post photos as well as @ reply to you Ello-ers.
Ello occasionally offers special attributes and features to their users. If there is a wonderful feature that you like and it must be on your profile, all you have to do is just pay very tiny bucks in order to see that feature get attached to your Ello account.
